Keith Bilous and Maurice Gingras founded ICUC in Winnipeg, Canada and Dominic Sparkes and Jasmine McGarrfounded Tempero in London, England. Within months of each other, two companies had been created that went on to build the community moderation industry on different sides of the Atlantic.
As demand grew and social media evolved, both companies services expanded to encompass full service social media management and in 2011 such a product set attracted the attention of Aegis Media/iProspect who bought ICUC to bolster their ambitions in digital media in the US. Three years later, Dentsu Aegis Media acquired Tempero to increase ICUC’s footprint in EMEA.
Bringing us to date, 2016 saw the creation of icuc.social – the formal rebrand of both ICUC and Tempero and with over 600 people, in 35 countries, covering 50 languages 24/7, it is safe to say we are prepared for the next step in our journey – creating genuine common ground between brands and audiences across communities and social media.

Our business wouldn’t be where it is if it wasn’t for Maurice (it’s true). As CFO for ICUC, Maurice is the keeper of the keys for all things budget and finance, and ensures ICUC is always working to our highest capacity. Maurice keeps our wheels turning around-the-clock.
Jan is the definition of a hard working, committed and competitive leader. Probably has something to do with her upbringing on a farm in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. She has been with ICUC since its very first years and continues to blaze trail.
Chuck provides the glue that holds ICUC together. Having lead the operations team for over a decade, his unmatched experience in everything from training to tech support. He keeps our operations adhering to best practices and regulations.
When it comes to social media trends and brand strategy, Nicole is the go-to at ICUC Social. She brings her 10+ years of brand and agency experience to ICUC Social, where she leads the Revenue Marketing Team. When she isn’t devising acquisition plans, she loves hiking, cycling and getting outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.
Jay is a social media growth expert and defender of brands. A quintessential out-of-the-box thinker; he loves helping organizations build sales machines that drive predictable revenue. While heading up customer solutions is his job by day, Jay loves to spend time with his family bribing them to be 49er fans.
